This page describes my reading style, and the structure of a typical reading from me. These patterns have emerged over the years enough to be described here. Keep in mind, each reading is unique and mostly Spirit-led, including topics and timing.
Before the reading:
It can help if you ask Spirit what they think if you schedule a reading. This could be done with a Tarot app on a phone for example. If they answer generally positive, give it some strong consideration as you make your decision. If they answer generally negative, consider waiting or going with another medium as you make your decision. Spirit has our best interests in mind and this is one way to practically engage with that.
Spirit knows when you schedule, and they know how the reading will go before we do. They always support your highest good. They know what you want and most need from the reading. They guide the structure and timing throughout. Part of my role during the reading is to support them in this way.
Starting the reading:
I usually meet through Zoom, but also use other communication platforms as needed. I can record using Zoom on your request – you can download the recording after, and I delete my copy when you confirm this is done.
A reading starts by establishing rapport and comfort with you. I share my background and answer any preliminary questions you may have. The reading starts once you are comfortable and ready, and I tune in with you and the spirits associated with you. Many people ask guidance for the future, in relationships, career, or other areas. Others ask to connect with specific spirits such as deceased loved ones.
During the reading:
Readings through me are a balance of evidence, insight, and guidance.
Evidence: Evidence includes information that you can confirm, that I cannot have known beforehand as the medium. In a reading, evidence gives you confidence that the information comes from spirit. Spirits may share details about themselves that are recognizable to you from when you knew them in this life. Recognizable details about your life may be shared. It’s expected that evidential information is provided during a reading, so that you and I are confident we have a strong spirit link to receive information. If we are seeking to connect with a specific spirit, evidence that you can confirm about them suggests that this spirit may indeed be part of the reading.
Insight: Insight confirms and elevates your perspective about specific topics in the reading. This may involve life situations such as past/present relationships, finances, career, and other major life areas. Additionally, some readings involve bringing up past emotions for revisiting, healing, and release – in these situations spirit provides insight about the past situations that led to the emotions.
Guidance: Guidance presents suggestions for the future. Evidence and insight set the stage for this part of the reading. As spirit brings our attention to the topics being discussed, they also like to suggest what the future can hold, related to those topics. They may also suggest related helpful actions you can take in the near future. Guidance from Spirit is expected to be empowering and uplifting, even if it includes challenging situations.
After the reading:
As the reading ends, I’ll check in to understand how you’re doing with what has been shared – I want to make sure you’re satisfied. There is time to address outstanding questions or unaddressed topics. I also want to ensure you’re doing well emotionally, if the reading touched on emotional content.
When a reading ends, notice how you’re feeling. It can be helpful to journal your takeaways, and if you took notes during the reading that’s also helpful. Integrating the experience, or processing what was said that was meaningful to you, is a strong next step after a reading. While memory of the reading can fade, some insights continue to come afterwards with reflection and integration.
The feelings after a reading are generally expected to be positive – there can be peace, assurance, and clarity. Readings can also touch on old wounds, or show us parts of ourselves that we’re still outgrowing – there can be mixed emotions including grief, sadness, or even anger. Spirit seeks to bring these up for the purpose of healing and release, so while they may be uncomfortable, during the reading it is expected that Spirit addresses these directly in constructive ways, for your benefit afterward.
Listening to a recording or re-reading notes can sometimes reconnect us to that spirit, or those feelings. Use this in a way that’s helpful for you.
